With the application of a magnetic vehicle sign, your car becomes a cost-efficient tool for local business promotion. Unfortunately, environmental pollutants, moisture and temperature extremes are enemies of a magnet’s finish and color. To prevent logo’d magnets from degrading, fading or pulling away from the vehicle, keep these tips in mind:
Thoroughly clean and dry your vehicle and magnet sign before applying. Place one corner of the magnet against the truck and allow its natural pull to draw it into place. Gently press out air bubbles as you go. To secure your decal during wind, rain or high speeds, regularly lift, clean and re-secure signs them to check for a tight fit.
Dust magnets several times a week using a microfiber cloth or soft towel. At least once per week, and whenever decals are exposed to wet weather, remove them from the car and clean/dry all surfaces. Check for grit and debris before re-securing. Remove magnetic signs before entering an automated car wash or before hand-washing your vehicle. Never drag the sign along the vehicle’s finish.
Clean and dry auto decals before storing them flat. When stacking signs, do not allow magnet sides to touch. Do not place heavy objects on top of stored decals, and avoid storing magnetic signs in extreme temperatures.
