Juggling multiple projects at the same time comes naturally for Brianna, Project Manager here at Performance Signs. Prior to coming on board at the sign shop, Brianna worked in customer service while simultaneously studying for her degree and becoming a mom. She succeeds in helping clients develop their project from beginning to end. Brianna successfully navigates the flow of clients’ projects and takes great pride making sure they meet both Performance Signs’ standards and her own. The initial plan for any client runs through many hands and creative minds in the office but Brianna remains committed to excellence throughout every phase of the process.
“Each client is so unique, and they bring their ideas to us at the shop. But it’s our job to help guide them. Helping their vision come alive is one of my favorite parts of working at Performance Signs. We are not a restaurant. We do not hand out a set menu of options to pick from. And that can get overwhelming for clients. Helping them make decisions based on what they need and want is a different kind of customer service. And it is definitely one of my favorite parts of working here.”
With a variety of vinyl signs, car and truck wraps, and products to offer loyal customers, Brianna has racked up many years of learning both in the classroom and the office. She learned the ins and outs of the sign world since joining the Performance Signs team in 2016, never having heard of the business nor having any former knowledge of how to do the work she now oversees daily. Katherine and Robbie brought on Brianna and equipped her with every element needed to bring a client’s vision to fruition. Brianna easily manages multiple projects the same day and often switches from one project to the next, which she admits can get tricky as she thrives on intense focus on one thing at a time. She concedes how much she has grown as a committed and dedicated team member while learning every part of the business.
Having settled into her soothing green office in the new Performance Signs building, Brianna has not only increased her workload but also her focus and productivity. Since she formerly juggled a greater variety of tasks but now focuses on project management, having a comfortable and customized space to call her own has increased her ability to curate the perfect end-product for customers. Being able to sit and think through a project, craft an email, and spend focused time assisting clients with details and decisions have all been expedited and streamlined in the innovative space. Her swanky green chairs help put clients at ease as Brianna guides them through decision making. Brianna has already come to appreciate every detail thought out and implemented in the new space.
“The whole flow of every project is so much easier and focused now. I have far greater engagement with our graphic designer because she is literally across the hall from me and I can plan and troubleshoot with her while also figuring out what may need to happen in the bay for a vehicle wrap with Darren. Even though it seems like we’re more spread out here we’re actually more connected and able to work together in ways we hadn’t been before. This means clients benefit from our new offices as much as we do. When we can all work better together it translates into better products with even better service.”
While Brianna has worked on a variety of projects throughout her career at Performance Signs, the one that stands out the most and remains her all-time favorite is the design and installation of the Donor Wall at Piedmont Virginia Community College. The combination of acrylic panels and stand-offs created a sleek presentation wall Brianna is proud to have been a part of. However, this project stays closer to her heart for more than just being a fantastic final piece and swoon-worthy install,
“The PVCC Donor Wall means so much to me as I’ve walked down that hallway countless times in my time there. This project felt like the perfect closure. Because of PVCC I have the job [at Performance Signs] that allowed me to work on this project. It was full circle and I’m really proud of it.”
From the initial design plans to executing the installation she feels the print team and install crew made sure the PVCC project exceeded everyone’s expectations. She is quick to acknowledge the team effort required to keep Performance Signs operating at full speed and with stellar customer service. Brianna flexes her creative side as she helps craft unique interior signs, fleet wraps for businesses, and promotional signs and banners for any event. Sometimes a client requires exterior signs able to withstand the elements of Central Virginia. Brianna manages the production of large vinyl signs for special occasions to custom vehicle wraps for box trucks and all banners, posters, and car wraps in between.
Brianna cherishes efficient and focused time on any task or project she receives. Working efficiently also requires open and clear communication with coworkers as much as with clients. For Performance Signs that translates into shared meals together in the bright and open kitchen. Katherine and Robbie make sure everyone remains well fed and Brianna admits she works more effectively when Mexican food and queso are involved.
In the midst of family life, Brianna feels fortunate to work more flexible hours at Performance Signs than in previous jobs. Ruckersville can now claim Brianna for its own after she was born and raised in neighboring Madison County, Greene’s historically biggest high school rival. Knowing that the work-homelife balance can grow tricky, Brianna prefers giving her all throughout the day so when at home she can be fully mom and fully present. This also means she can enjoy any time away from the office with family enjoying new restaurants, listening to live music around town, or on a cruise. Brianna claims professional football may be her favorite sport (Geaux Saints!), although she admits strapping on roller skates and skating across the smooth floors of the new office would be way more entertaining.
