Which is better for use on my vehicle: magnetic decals or vinyl lettering?
Vinyl truck lettering and car magnet signs are both high-ROI ways to promote your business, launch a new brand or advertise seasonal deals. Here are a few factors to consider before deciding between vehicle stickers and magnets:
- Type of vehicle use. Vinyl lettering is a good solution for full-time commercial vehicles and customers wishing to increase brand visibility during personal and business driving. Car magnets are a better choice for part-time advertising since they are easily removed before personal auto use. Magnet decals are also a good choice for frequently changing product and service promotions.
- Ownership status. Are you driving a company car? Is your vehicle leased or rented? Some leasing companies allow drivers to apply vinyl lettering or vehicle stickers, and they may include vehicle graphics in lease financing. Be sure to read your lease carefully, though. A car magnet is often the safest bet when you don’t own the vehicle. If you still prefer vinyl stickers, double-check with the leasing company to get consent and confirm the guidelines for vinyl lettering application and removal.
- Does your home community allow commercial vehicle parking? Some communities and HOAs do not permit residents to park business automobiles in driveways or along streets. Magnets are an alternative to vinyl stickers for this situation since they are easily removed and stored for later use.
