Vehicle Wraps FAQs

  • What is a color-change vehicle wrap & what are the benefits?

Color-change vinyl is installed over all exterior auto surfaces, updating a car’s look without altering the underlying finish. These full auto wraps are a cost-effective alternative to vehicle painting, and they are commonly layered with branding, logos and other graphic elements.

FAQ: What types of vinyl wraps do you install?

  • What is a partial vehicle wrap & what are the benefits?

Partial vinyl wraps (sometimes called “half wraps”) cover 1/4 to 3/4 of the auto’s exterior surface (less than full wrap application, but more than a spot graphic or decal). If your budget does not accommodate total vinyl coverage, our Charlottesville partial vehicle wraps supply high-impact results without the higher price point.

A partial wrap is also a good choice if a car’s paint color complements your brand color scheme. When professionally applied, the graphics mimic the look of a full vinyl wrap. The Performance Signs’ design and installation team will help you determine the best placement for your message, logo and other graphic elements to optimize your investment and maximize the vehicle’s impact.

Other advantages of partial vehicle graphics include:

    • Flexible placement on sides, trunk or hood for maximum effect
    • Custom designs that blend with vehicle paint color
    • High-performance edge sealing for UV & moisture protection

  • What types of vinyl vehicle wraps do you install?

All Performance Signs wraps are customized to your design goals and vehicle make/model. In most cases, your vinyl graphic installation will fall into one of these four categories.

    • Full vinyl vehicle wraps. These total-coverage vehicle wraps cover all exterior body panels, creating a high-impact advertisement when you’re on the road.
    • Full vinyl color-change wraps. Full color-change wraps are an economical alternative to pricey paint jobs. Covering the car’s exterior surface, color-change film can be installed as a standalone product or may be combined with logos, contact information and other branding elements.
    • Partial vehicle wraps. Also called “half wraps,” partial vehicle graphics typically cover 1/4 to 3/4 of the vehicle’s exterior surface. Since they require less vinyl and installation time, these wrap types are a more cost-friendly way of achieving brand visibility.
    • Spot graphics. These affordable, die-cut door decals and vinyl logo “stickers” can be turned around promptly—usually with just 1/2 day of vehicle downtime! Spot graphics are popular for auto doors, but they can be installed in any location that suits the decal’s shape and size.

FAQ: I need a firm vehicle wrap quote. What information do you need?

  • I need a firm vehicle wrap quote. What information do you need?

Like most of our Central VA graphics services, your installed vehicle wrap is fully custom. To provide you with a firm estimate rather than a ballpark cost, we’ll need some details about your project and your vehicle/fleet. If you are unsure what type of wraps fit your budget and marketing goals, our knowledgeable installation team can walk you through the options, A to Z.

To request a firm design and installation estimate, get started online or call 434.985.7446. To refine your vehicle graphics quote, we will need the following information:

    • Vehicle year, make & model
    • General vehicle condition. We want your vinyl wrap project to be a success. For high-performance application results, it is best to apply vinyl to a clean, unblemished car surface. If paint is peeling or your vehicle’s exterior has extensive damage, we may recommend repairs before applying your new vehicle graphics.
    • Design & color-change vision. To provide a Charlottesville auto wrap estimate, we need a design starting point. If you have a general idea of design preferences—including logos, graphic elements, color choices and wrap placement—let us know. If not, we are here to help! After designing and installing hundreds of auto and fleet wraps every year, our seasoned design team knows what works—and what doesn’t. We’ll integrate your company’s branding and color schemes to create a winning wrap concept that meets budget and marketing goals.
    • Where will the wrap be applied? Vehicle wrap types include full, partial and spot/die-cut vinyl, and placement varies. For more information about basic wrap types and vinyl placement options, contact Performance Signs wrap experts at 434.985.7446!
